We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this individual will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained and creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise the Housekeeping team
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities based on room availability and hotel needs.
- Perform regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
- Ensure that all rooms are thoroughly cleaned, stocked, and maintained before the guests check-in.
- Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, safety protocols, and hotel standards.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to staff to ensure consistent performance.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
- Address guest complaints or requests related to housekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure that guests’ needs are met to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the housekeeping team follows all health and safety guidelines, including the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and materials.
- Enforce proper hygiene standards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with the front desk, maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination for room availability and guest requests.
- Monitor staffing level daily ensuring that shifts are adequately staffed based on hotel occupancy.
- Monitor attendance and timekeeping and assist with payroll administration.
- Assist in managing the housekeeping department's budget, controlling costs related to supplies, labor, and equipment.
- Such other similar and related duties as required from time to time.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or in a supervisory role is required
- Experience with managing a team, organizing tasks, and ensuring quality control
- A college degree in hospitality management or a related field is an asset
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and other departments.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and quality.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects (e.g., cleaning supplies, linens, etc.).
- Good physical stamina to meet the demands of the job.
- Familiarity with housekeeping software and basic computer skills (e.g., email, scheduling software).
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to resolve issues effectively, such as handling guest complaints or dealing with unexpected situations.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to meet operational requirements
