Hotel Maintenance Technician - Delta Hotel

We are presently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel’s physical assets, including guest rooms, public spaces, mechanical systems, and other facilities. The role ensures that the hotel meets safety standards, operates efficiently, and provides an excellent experience for guests
What you will do:
- Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, ensuring everything is working efficiently.
- Repair or replace damaged furniture, fixtures, or appliances in guest rooms, such as televisions, lighting, air conditioning units, and door locks.
- Ensure that guest room amenities are functioning properly.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to reduce the risk of equipment failure and minimize downtime (e.g., cleaning filters, lubricating machinery, checking HVAC systems).
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, such as plumbing leaks, power outages, or broken equipment, to minimize disruptions to guests' experiences.
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Fix electrical issues, including light bulb replacements, circuit breaker problems, and issues with electrical outlets or switches.
- Repair leaky faucets, clogged drains, and malfunctioning toilets or water heaters.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of building infrastructure (e.g., fixing broken tiles, repairing walls, and maintaining doors/windows).
- Communicate effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Keep records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for reference.
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Maintain fire safety equipment and emergency systems, such as alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exit lighting.
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
- Work closely with housekeeping and other hotel departments to address any maintenance-related guest concerns.
- Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) may be required.
- Possess a clean drivers abstract
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- May require on-call availability for emergency maintenance.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, such as lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, depending on the season or location
