Reporting to the Head Chef, The Lower Deck is currently seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to provide leadership to the back-of-house team.
What you will be doing:
- supervising kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations
- preparing food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- checking inventory and making sure ingredients are available for daily use;
- adjusting cooking methods based on customer preferences or dietary restrictions
- training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- maintaining a clean work area as required by provincial health standards
- performing assigned opening and closing duties
- reporting low stock and helping with inventory management
- completing all mandatory food hygiene and safety training that must be kept up to date
- such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time
The person we are looking for has:
- experience in a fast-paced, high performing restaurant
- experience supervising or managing a team is considered a plus
- experience with food ordering and inventories
- professional cooking and knife handling skills
- strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- the proven ability to plan and prioritize
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
