Peacock - Sous Chef
PEACOCK WINE BAR
About Freehand Hospitality
Rooted in chef-led creativity, our team is passionate about bringing people together with bold flavours, thoughtful ingredients, and warm, welcoming service. We celebrate diverse culinary styles—from upscale Maritime dining to classic French fare—paired with genuine hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Every dish tells a story, and every experience celebrates connection, community, and a true sense of place in Halifax.
An intimate and cozy hideaway in the heart of Halifax’s bustling Queen’s Marque district, our breed of wine bar is both confident and cheeky. Proudly serving an ever-evolving list of 90+ labels including small-production and hard-to-find bottles as well as an extensive by-the-glass selection, we invite our guests to stop in for a sip and stay for our seasonal, tapas-style plates designed for sharing by Chef Catherine Johnson, everything is made fresh in-house with an emphasis on quality ingredients, simply crafted and carefully prepared. Taking inspiration from global influences, our food is distinctly creative, artfully composed and wonderfully memorable — even after that last bottle. We invite guests to join us for dinner in our lush green dining room or enjoy a late-night snack at the bar where deep gem tones and gold accents collide.
