Join The Team:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Safety & Security Manager to join our Safety team! The Safety & Security Manager supports the direction and monitoring of all activities related to local plant safety (from policy/procedure development through implementation, execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a specific set of responsibilities, the Safety & Security Manager must balance an ability to draw on well-established general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in daily plant activities (applying specialty/technical skills) as required. Acts as the key connection between the corporate Senior Manager, Health & Safety and the local plant. The Safety & Security Manager is the key contact for Government and regulatory bodies associated with Employee, Process and Contractor Safety. Develops Safety Standard's and ensures plant compliance to both regulatory and company training requirements.

 

The Role:

  • Development, maintenance, and implementation of site safety plans, policies, procedures, and support of continuous improvement of these internal standards.
  • Development and implementation of site safety training programs. Ensure that the site employees, contractors, and visitors are trained in these standards as required.
  • Make (or actively support) critical decisions that impact the local site (i.e., capital projects, staffing, performance, environmental, safety, safety supplier negotiations, production, costing/budgeting etc.).
  • Support incident investigations by analyzing incidents to identify areas of concern; prepare incident reports for some incidents when deemed appropriate.  Review incident reports for trends and concerns.  Manage completion of safety actions in a timely manner.
  • Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance in areas such as employee safety, contractor safety, process safety, environment etc.
  • Site Security Compliance with Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Security Rules.
  • Coordinate with Department of Homeland Security on audits, site visits
  • Manage site security program and systems (including contracted security services).
  • Plant contact for local, regional and federal law enforcement with regard to security.
  • Via the ERCO safety Committee (ESC); Provide ongoing support to the ERCO Senior Manager, Health & Safety in all areas of HSE responsibility related to companywide activities.
    • Preparing month-end statistics
    • Reviewing procedures
    • Promote safety initiatives & safety week
    • Development of materials for use by all ERCO employees

 

The Person:

  • College Diploma Preferred.
  • Designation as a Safety Professional (per applicable judication).
  • Related training in Safety and Compliance.
  • Relevant Manufacturing Experience.
  • Knowledge of Responsible Care Codes and Practices, Quality Systems, Incident Investigation, Problem-Solving, Contracts and Service Agreements, Process Safety, Business Platforms (JDE, E1, Coupa, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, KMS/MOC) required.
