Reporting to VP of Finance, you will lead and empower the accounting team to ensure high performance, collaboration, and accountability. They will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and effective management of the monthly and annual financial close.

In this role, you will drive financial oversight by maintaining strict adherence to policies, regulations, and compliance standards. Your mission will also involve aligning financial resources with the company’s strategic objectives, supporting audits, and managing special projects. As a key leader, you will champion innovation in financial processes to enhance transparency, improve efficiency, and ensure fiscal responsibility across the global organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Lead, mentor, and manage the finance and accounting team, ensuring high levels of productivity and accuracy in financial reporting
•    Oversee all finance and accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
•    Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including coordinating with external auditors during audit engagements
•    Review monthly consolidated financial statements and prepare financial forecasts and analyze report variances
•    Manage the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, SR&ED, and other tax-related schedules for income tax return submissions ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings in all operating countries 
•    Oversee global payroll preparation, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees in compliance with local laws and company policies 
•    Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting while evaluating and strengthening accounting and internal control systems
•    Assess and improve accounting operations and processes
•    Establish and enforce standardized processes and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
•    Oversee the integration and optimization of Epicor ERP system to ensure seamless data flow between financial operations and project management, enabling real-time monitoring of project performance and financial health
•    Perform additional duties as assigned by the VP of Finance, and CEO

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of experience as a controller 
10+ years of experience in accounting or finance
RP system proficiency and ERP implementation experience 
Proficient in advanced analytics and BI tools (beyond Excel)
Leadership

Financial reporting (consolidation)
Analytical thinking
Project accounting: Experienced in project accounting, revenue recognition, cost controls, contract compliance, and financial oversight for multi-year project
Process documenting, improvement and training
Regulatory reporting such as multinational tax filings, SR&ED,  and transfer pricing 
Payroll management

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred

This is a hybrid role (4 days in the office and 1 day remotely).

The salary range for this role is between $120K-150K CDN/Year
