Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Engineering Technician who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role acts as the key bridge between engineering and sales, driving seamless project planning, execution, and on -time delivery while adhering to budget and specifications. It involves managing and engineering initiatives from initial concept to full implementation, ensuring they align with business objectives.

Main Tasks

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, from initial planning to tactical execution.                                                                                         
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Technical teams to design and implement sealing solutions while considering core manufacturing process capabilities.              
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product design for labour and material efficiency.                                                                   
  • Analyze tooling and equipment to enhance manufacturability.
  • Develop engineering drawings, schematics and prototypes based upon pre-defined product requirements. 
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Team to determine equipment and materials specifications.
  • Plan project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate project management tools.                       
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendors, to address technical issues and provide support.                                                           
  • Preparation of final project documentation, including manuals and associated reports, to ensure successful project completion.
  • Create and maintain CAD working plans and technical drawings for projects.                                        
  • Organize and manage digital CAD file database for each project.
  • Review engineering plans and generate technical reports to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Apply problem-solving strategies to address project challenges.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all work, products, and relevant activities.                                                                                                                                                                                     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.                         

                                                                                                 

  • 3-5 years project management experience in a relevant industry, such as rubber or plastics manufacturing.  

                                                                                                                       

  • Strong knowledgeable about APQP and GD&T principles.                                                                                                                                     
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, and other CAD software                                                                                                                             
  • Deep understanding of fundamental engineering concepts and best practices.                                                                                                                               
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.                                                                                                                                     
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office & Adobe software.
