OB DESCRIPTION: 

The Park Service Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of park facilities, specifically overseeing washroom sanitation and overall park zone cleanliness. This position is responsible for overseeing Park Services Attendants, ensuring efficient operations through effective scheduling, keeping inventory and assisting in reordering janitorial items and fostering an environment that enhances the visitor experience. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, a commitment to excellence in park maintenance, and a passion for promoting environmental stewardship. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Facility Oversight:
    • Supervise and inspect washroom facilities to ensure cleanliness, proper sanitation, and adequate supplies.
    • Conduct regular assessments of parking zones to identify areas in need of maintenance or cleanliness improvements. 
  • Team Management:
    • Work closely with the Park Services Director to hire, train, and manage Park Services Attendants and Cleaning Staff; providing clear direction and support.
    • Assist in creating weekly schedules for team members, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operations throughout the park. 
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, restroom amenities, and maintenance materials.
    • Order and replenish supplies as needed, establishing relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Visitor Engagement:
    • Interact with park visitors, promoting awareness of park rules and encouraging a culture of respect for the natural environment.
    • Address visitors' feedback and concerns promptly, working to enhance their overall experience within the park. 
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure that all park operations comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular training for staff on sanitary practices and safety measures.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and incident reports. 
  • Reporting:
    • Report to the Director on operational status, including maintenance needs, staffing challenges, and supply inventory.
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions to improve the park services based on visitor trends and feedback. 
  • Qualifications:
    • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent

 

SKILLS: 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to public facilities.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
