WNW Aquatics - Water Safety Guard

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Water Safety Guards will work across the parks aquatics facilities, including slides and other park attractions to facilitate safe operations. Wet‘n’Wild Toronto will offer the Water Safety Guard certification free of cost to individuals who wish to have more responsibility within the aquatics department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload guests from slides and water attractions.
- Enforce facility rules and policies.
- Execute the emergency action plan if required in emergency situations.
- Monitor supply inventories and alert their manager of any potential replenishment needs.
- Provide exceptional guest service to park visitors.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Attend scheduled in-service training sessions.
- Responsible for monitoring equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance by reporting issues to the appropriate authority.
- Responsible for making sure all team members comply with the company values and are completing our mission.
REQUIREMENTS TO PASS WATER SAFETY GUARD COURSE:
- Physical standard:
- Swim 25 meters.
- Underwater swim and object recovery:
- Swim underwater for 10 meters to retrieve a 10lb object, surface and return the object to the start.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Emergency First Aid Cert will be considered an asset.
- Water safety guard(s) will be assigned to work at a variety of the park’s water rides and shallow water pools. Water Park Attendant’s must complete the Wet‘n’Wild Toronto’s training program(s) prior to starting work.
- Must be 16 years or older to apply.
- Must be able to clearly communicate safety instructions to guests.
- Must be able to hear, understand and react effectively to ride noises, signals, and ride codes.
- Must be able to effectively attend and react promptly to Guests’ concerns/distresses, first aid emergencies, unassisted and or without devices.
- Must possess strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to sit and/stand/and walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
- Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 60lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires occasional work in or around water, confined quarters, heights, loud environments, moving objects and large crowds. A successful candidate will be able to work in all weather conditions, including vast temperatures and weather conditions.
