Safety Advisors – 2025 Turnaround Season

WQS Industrial is now recruiting Safety Advisors for the 2025 Turnaround Season, beginning in early spring, with major projects in Fort McMurray and Edmonton regions. This is your chance to join a dynamic team, enjoy a people first culture, and contribute to a season focused on excellence and innovation.

Schedule: Day Shift/Night Shift Roles Available: 6 days on, 1 day off - 12-hour days
Duration: Approximately April to October
Hour Rate: $40.00 - $50.00

What You Will Bring

  • Implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the unique challenges of Non-Destructive Testing and Rope Access operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams, including NDT technicians and Rope Access technicians, on safety protocols, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action initiatives to prevent recurrence of accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
  • Deliver engaging safety training sessions and toolbox talks to enhance awareness and promote a strong safety culture among all employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of evolving safety regulations, industry standards, and technological advancements in Non-Destructive Testing and Rope Access techniques, and incorporate relevant updates into HSE programs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and clients to ensure that HSE requirements are effectively integrated into project planning, execution, and completion stages.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE inquiries, concerns, and reporting, fostering open communication channels and building trust across the organization.

What WQS Will Do For You

  • Five (5) years work experience in Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Specific knowledge and expertise in Non-Destructive Testing and/or Rope Access.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta's regulatory environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
