The Communications & Service Experience Division of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario requires an individual with strong website design, front-end development and creative digital design skills to be responsible for designing and improving website content and applications, making improvements to how digital content is presented on the AGCO’s public websites and employee intranet, and producing various other digital products (including forms, presentations, newsletters and posters).

 

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Communications, you will use your skills with website design tools and principles, including Drupal and Sharepoint CMSs, to maintain the content on the AGCO’s websites and employee intranet and recommend necessary changes to enhance their effectiveness and functionality.  You will also use your skills with design software (particularly Adobe Suite) and creative design skills to create various digital products for use both internally and in public-facing materials.

 

You will use your organizational and interpersonal skills to consult with internal clients and appropriate individuals from program areas to plan and develop communications products and website updates informed by the Communications Department’s key drivers.  You must be able to work accurately with attention to detail as you will ensure content being developed is accurate and consistent with agency messaging, and that Commission documents meet established standards. 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

 

  • Proficiency in key software tools used by web designers, especially Adobe Creative Suite (including Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Proficiency in managing and formatting web content using Drupal, the open-source content management system on which our public websites are built.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of HTML and CSS coding.
  • Understanding of the principles and application of accessible web design.
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office 365 including SharePoint functionality and design, particularly in relation to corporate intranet applications. 
  • Project-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player under tight deadlines.

    

Other skills that would be an asset:

 

  • Intermediate level knowledge of written French.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
