Assistant Professor or Lecturer, Social Work (Limited Term)
Cape Breton University (CBU) invites applications for a limited-term position in its Bachelor of Social Work program at the rank of Assistant Professor (or lecturer, depending on qualifications). This position will commence August 1, 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and end on July 30th, 2026, renewable based on performance and department need. The position may be renewed, subject to budgetary approval.

Key responsibilities of this position include teaching a range of undergraduate social work courses, both in-person and/or online, as assigned by the department, maintaining a student-centred approach to instruction, and promoting inclusive, engaging, and evidence-informed pedagogies. The successful candidate will also participate in departmental meetings and service activities that support program goals and student success. Contribution to student advising, mentoring, and support is expected.
The candidate must hold a master’s degree, have solid practice experience in the field of social work, and have experience teaching in adult education. Applicants must either be currently registered as a social worker with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or be eligible for registration.
