About the Role:
CISN 103.9 FM Country Radio has a rare opportunity within our Programming Department for a part-time Weekend Swing Announcer role. Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will work a minimum of 12 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays, plus coverage for time-off requests of other announcers as required.
Our preferred candidate is self-motivated, social media savvy, and a positive team player who will help grow our position in the market. This candidate is charismatic, empathetic, and energetic. Someone who is technically adept and comfortable behind ‘the console’. Someone who works well independently, yet thrives on building relationships with co-workers, listeners and clients.
You will contribute by:
- Consistent content curation, show-prep, and great storytelling live on air
- Daily content contributions to the station’s website and social media platforms
- Marketing for the show and brand at station, client, and community events
- Live remote broadcasts (as required)
- Positive participatory role in air-checks, programming and promotional meetings
- Research soft news/hot topics of the day
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by management on an on-going basis
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Post-secondary education in radio broadcasting
- Previous on-air experience required
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of iMediaTouch, Vox-Pro and Burli is considered an asset
- You are a dynamic host who can entertain, engage, laugh and “think on your feet”
- You are disciplined with show-prep and excel at bringing compelling content to life
- You are social media savvy and thrive to express your creativity online/on camera
- You strive to embrace your listener’s lifestyle(s) and relate to the station’s target audience(s)
- You are a positive person in the halls who thrives on “good culture”, teamwork, and collaboration
