About the Role

Do you have exceptional design and edit skills and do you want to work for an award winning creative team? Then join Corus Creative Services in Edmonton. You will get to use your talents as an artist, animator, graphic designer and post production editor on small and large projects for our clients. We are collaborative and high performing and we need people like you on our team.

Global Edmonton, a division of Corus Entertainment is currently seeking a temporary (maternity leave coverage) looking for a Design Editor to join the Corus Creative Services team. You will work with the Creative Services team to design and edit exceptional creative for client projects.

This position reports to the Manager of Creative Services in Edmonton.


You’ll be working on things like:

The following is an outline of some but not all of the primary functions and responsibilities for the position of Design Editor.

  • Developing 2D, 3D and 4K animations, motion graphics, character design.
  • Developing, designing static graphics, print design, logo design, outdoor branding design.
  • Post Editing of short and long form, multiplatform video creative.
  • Developing, designing, and editing creative elements into finished short and long form video creative material required for Commercial Production and other projects.
  • Packaging and delivering edited elements to producers that meet client expectations.
  • Working in Unreal Engine Software.
  • Working closely with the Manager of Creative Services to support production requirements associated with all post/art services productions.
  • Working closely with the Commercial Writer Producers to support production requirements associated with all post/art services projects.
  • Brainstorming as a team and individually.
  • Formulating, developing, implementing and completing creative projects on tight deadlines.
  • Other duties as required.


If you have the following…we want to hear from you!

  • Proven direct experience, in both post editing and graphics design/animation.
  • Exceptional computer skills working with software programs, which involve post production editing, 3D animation, graphics development, Unreal Engine or others.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial Post Production, in both the editing and graphics design areas in production industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Commercial Post Production, in both the editing and graphics design, or equivalent.
  • Experience with 3D software packages such as Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max or Softimage.
  • Have an understanding of the principles of animation such as timing, weight, and space and be able to model, rig, texture, and light.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 6, After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Sound Booth, Media Encoder, and various XD Cam utility programs for dealing with Sony and Canon video, which are the two cameras used to shoot with in Creative Services.
  • An understanding of backup procedures, restoring editing systems, Kona software and setup procedures for importing and exporting video files.
  • The ability to meet concurrent and conflicting deadlines.
  • A professional team player with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, both verbal and written.
  • Creative, passionate, enthusiastic, people-centered and flexible.
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to manage and share solutions under tight timelines.
  • Proactively learns new software programs for post-production editing and graphics design and animation.
  • Has work flexibility, dependent on production turnaround, deadlines or needs.
  • The ability to travel when required.
  • This is a Group F position under current collective agreement.
