Do you have strong data analytics skills and enjoy following guidelines and processes? Want to make a tangible impact with an industry-leading ARO assessment team?
As an ARO Analyst you will join 360’s industry leading Asset Retirement Obligations (“ARO”) assessment team. You will utilize your skill to model ARO for financial reporting and M&A of oil and gas companies across North America. Success in this role will require you to merge technical knowledge with data analytics and 360’s proprietary database of $30 billion of evaluated ARO. Experience with technical file reviews, environmental closure regulations, and Excel modelling will be an asset.
Make a Difference
- Gather and refine data from public sources to enhance its accuracy and precision
- Utilize GIS mapping software to assess assets
- Maintain database of assets
- Calculate the ARO of oil and gas companies across Canada and the United States for financial reporting and M&A activity.
- Determine well abandonment costs based on depth, completion type, and additional considerations for integrity concerns and geological intricacies
- Determine facility decommissioning costs according to the components comprising each location
- Determine pipeline abandonment costs from the capacity, fluid content, and other physical characteristics of each segment
- Determine remediation costs utilizing statistical modelling to predict the frequency and severity of contamination
- Determine reclamation costs according to construction type, land use, and disturbance area
- Analyze documentation related to environmental and abandonment activities, including Phase 1 ESA, Phase 2 ESA, and Remedial Action Plans, and provide comprehensive summaries of key findings
- Generate comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
- Update closure models for changes in economic conditions, technology, industry practices, and regulations
- Collaborate with closure experts to refine cost estimates and conduct project lookbacks to enhance future accuracy.
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and deliver project updates.

- Undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines: engineering or science
- Experience in Oil and Gas closure work is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills
- Strong work ethic and desire for continual learning
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
