Actuarial Associate
Position Title: Actuarial Analyst/Associate
Reports To: Director, Group Pricing and Special Projects
Department: Group Actuarial
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for an Actuarial Associate or Analyst to join our Group Actuarial team. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the products in the Group Benefits division reporting to the respective director.

What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain actuarial pricing models for all Group Products
- Collaborate closely with Group Underwriting to recommend pricing adjustments to support Quotes and Renewals
- Support new product development and plan design changes of existing products
- Query Data in SQL and analyze results to help support decisions
- Identify and analyze emerging trends in experience to support pricing changes and assumption updates
- Participate in the regular review of our pricing rates, methodology and guidelines, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability
What you will bring:
- At least 5 years of Actuarial Experience
- ASA/ACIA designation
- Experience working in Group Benefits is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, SQL
- Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical skills
- A strong focus on customer service with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world actuarial problems.
