Summary

The Retail Associate Store Manager (ASM) embodies The FIKA Company mission, vision, values, and brand to create and support their store’s business objectives and all activities. Under the direction of their Store Manager, and performing with high integrity, the ASM , is primarily responsible for the daily business operations of the store including training and supervising employees, interacting with customers, motivating teams, managing inventory levels, and handling any other task assigned by the Store Manager. The ASM is the first point of contact for addressing and dealing with customer complaints and ensuring that customers have an enjoyable experience when visiting the retail store. All ASMs are expected to be stewards of compliance and education, reinforcing company standards, and leading with Hospitality, Experience, Authenticity, Respect, and Teamwork (H.E.A.R.T.).

Job Duties

1. Sales Leadership:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, and cash reconciliations.
  • Drive performance with an understanding of KPI's.
  • Foster a culture of sales excellence and customer satisfaction in your store.
  • Train, mentor, and coach team members to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain product knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, encourage teamwork, collaboration, and professional development.

2. Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of store(s), ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement standardized operating procedures to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Communicate changes in policy, procedures, products, services, promotions, or any other alterations that affect the customer.
  • Assist Store Manager with training and managing all employees in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales.

  • Assist the store team in maintaining the store’s visual objectives and housekeeping standards by straightening merchandise and assisting in floor and fixture changes and keeping stock replenished.
  • Monitor inventory levels, product assortment, and merchandising standards to optimize sales and minimize shrinkage.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion independently and in conjunction with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store.

3. Customer Experience:

  • Ensure quality and consistency of service meets FIKA Company standards.
  • Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally.
  • Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction metrics/surveys to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and suggest initiatives to enhance customer experience and drive repeat business.

Expectations

  • Maintaining operational excellence (payroll, shrink management, inventory management, etc.)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent understanding of analytics and metrics, and keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, exceptional communication and coaching skills.
  • Exceptional product knowledge.
  • Maintain their provincial cannabis licensing requirements..
  • Leverages technology, skilled in POS, Social Media and MS Office.

 

Hours and Environment

 

This position is a critical leader as they are responsible for guest and colleague experience. This position will be required to be available based on the needs of the business. Evening & Weekends are a key part of the business and will require the Associate Store Manager for at least 1 weekend day and regular evenings. In the early days of opening stores, peak and holiday business, nights and weekends will be required.

 

The Associate Store Manager will be a leader on the floor. A typical day will involve being on the floor, working with team members, as well as providing guest experience. Most of this time is spent on the floor and on your feet. Manual dexterity will be required to use items such as the POS and desktop computer, and the ability to lift 25lbs.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in the retail industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a supervisory role in a retail environment.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Provincial Cannabis Certification
