POSITION SUMMARY
Join us in shaping the future of technology at HomeEquity Bank! We are seeking a Full Stack Developer, in this role you will design and develop scalable, high-quality web applications for HomeEquity Bank. Reporting to the Director of Digital Delivery, you will work across the entire software development lifecycle—from backend database structures to front-end interfaces.
You will work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure the successful execution of software development. We are seeking a motivated professional with experience in both backend and frontend development who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE
Application Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications, ensuring robust performance
- Build APIs and integrate third-party services to support application features
- Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using modern frameworks
System Design and Architecture:
- Architect backend systems, including database schema design and application logic
- Implement security best practices for data protection and application integrity
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure alignment of project goals
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for code, APIs, and system processes
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Monitor applications for performance issues and resolve bugs promptly
- Perform regular updates and improvements based on user feedback and evolving technologies
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in full stack development
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Experience leading architectural design / solutions engineering
- Strong experience with Python and modern web frameworks (FastAPI preferred)
- Proficiency in React and frontend development
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience with platforms such as Azure and Salesforce
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with workflow engines (particularly Temporal)
- Knowledge of financial technology or mortgage industry
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of security best practices in financial applications
