Founded in 2015 in Toronto, Canada, KORE Solutions is a subsidiary company of HTS and an innovative technology solutions and services provider with a strong focus on the HVAC manufacturer’s representative industry. With a variety of offerings including business intelligence software, help service support, and more, KORE delivers end-to-end solutions that empower our partners and clients to build their successful business.

At KORE, communication and collaboration is our top priority. As a team member, you’ll be working closely with all departments to develop our software, TRAX, and the infrastructure surrounding it. We have a strong teamwork-oriented culture, meaning you’re surrounded by resources who want you to succeed. Your contributions will also have a direct impact. You’ll be providing meaningful change to the company and serve to enhance our processes.

Job Mandate

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the automation, deployment, and observability needs of our development and production environments. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers and infrastructure teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, manage hybrid infrastructure (on-premise and Azure cloud), and ensure the reliable, scalable delivery of both modern and legacy software systems. While minimal Smalltalk programming is required, our legacy system is built on Smalltalk using the Gemstone/S object database, and is supported by Jenkins-based pipelines with extensive custom scripting. The role involves maintaining and optimizing these deployment workflows, as well as building new automation for our modern stack, which includes Python (FastAPI) and Flutter/React. A proven track record with Kubernetes in production environments is essential, as we continue to expand and containerize our services for greater agility and scalability.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, supporting both modern and legacy systems.
  • Automate deployment processes for our FastAPI backend and React/Flutter frontends across on-prem and Azure environments.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Jenkins-based automation for our Smalltalk legacy system (scripted workflows, artifact handling, environment promotion).
  • Use infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates) to provision and manage environments reproducibly.
  • Collaborate with hardware and IT infrastructure teams to manage virtualized systems as though they were cloud-native.
  • Implement observability and monitoring systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, and related tools.
  • Enforce system-level security best practices and support patching, backup, and recovery operations.
  • Provide release and deployment support during sprints and major product updates

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid of remote work and office setting
  • Office setting - Open, collaborative office space (may vary by location)
  • Fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Reliable access to personal transportation is a requirement

Minimum Required Technical Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Strong scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Experience managing Linux systems in virtualized or containerized environments
  • Production experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment
  • Familiarity with Docker and secure image lifecycle management
  • Hands-on experience managing Azure cloud resources
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Comfortable managing and improving automation for legacy systems (Jenkins, custom shell scripts)

Minimum Required Behavioural / Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and operational awareness
  • Able to work cross-functionally across dev, infrastructure, and legacy support teams
  • Comfortable maintaining reliability for systems you didn’t originally build
