We are seeking a Project Accountant to support the Accounting Department by handling day-to-day financial transactions, requiring strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

What You Will Do:
As Project Accountant, you’ll support the financial operations of Ironclad Developments by ensuring accurate project accounting and timely reporting. Key responsibilities include:
• Project Accounting Manage contract-related payables, track contract documents, and ensure accurate job cost coding and billing compliance.
• Collaboration & Communication Work with various departments on budget updates and forecasts. Communicate with project managers on contract changes, approvals, and payables.
• Financial Reporting Prepare operating reports and variance analyses for senior leadership. Recommend budget reductions using benchmarking data.
• Month-End & Compliance Meet month-end deadlines, maintain budget documentation, and ensure adherence to internal policies.
• Process Improvement Resolve discrepancies, review procedures, and recommend process and control improvements to boost efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Finance and Accounting
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and a problem solver
- Experience with cost accounting and understanding of project management/accounting best practices, especially in construction
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently with high accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Progression towards CPA designation
- Proficiency with ERPs; knowledge of Viewpoint Vista is an asset
