We are seeking a Controller for Ironclad Properties to oversee daily financial operations, ensure accuracy across entities, and support the accounting team with strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

What You Will Do:

As Controller, you’ll lead the financial strategy and execution for Ironclad Developments, managing the full financial picture across multiple entities. You’ll be a key player in aligning our financial systems with operational goals, driving improvement, and supporting long-term growth. Core responsibilities include:

Financial & Operational Reporting
Oversee the preparation of financial reports for multiple entities including limited partnerships, bare trusts, holding companies, and other related structures. Prepare monthly and annual financial packages for shareholders with variance analysis and strategic recommendations.

Entity & Ownership Management
Interpret partnership agreements and ownership structures to accurately record and allocate financial transactions, particularly for limited partnerships.

Budgeting & Forecasting
Collaborate with operations to build annual budgets for multiple entities and track performance through KPI reporting across both development and property management phases.

Tax & Compliance
Lead the preparation of tax compliance and filings. Maintain internal control documentation and ensure regulatory and policy adherence.

Process Improvement & Technology
Evaluate and enhance financial procedures and controls, develop KPI dashboards, and champion technology upgrades that streamline operations and increase accuracy.

Leadership & Communication
Manage and mentor a team of 2–5 direct reports. Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate discrepancies, communicate key insights, and influence decisions.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

• CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of experience at the controllership level
• Experience in multi-family residential development or property management
• Strong knowledge of limited partnerships and partnership allocations
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality reporting
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with Yardi property management software
• Experience implementing financial systems or tech-based process improvements
• Passion for innovation, change management, and operational efficiency
