THE ROLE
Warehouse Team Leaders are the people on the ground getting the goods to the right person, in the right quantity, when they’re needed. Action oriented, they are the go-to people for others in their department and for external teams to coordinate and solve operational issues. Team Leads manage each department in the Coquitlam distribution centre (Receiving, Inventory, Putaway, Ecommerce, Store Fulfillment, New Store Openings, and Returns) working in unity with the Warehouse Floor Manager and Senior Warehouse Manager. Team Leads are often determined and detail-oriented, enjoy fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and deadlines. They are good listeners and communicators, with a strong inclination to help others solve problems. Organization and prioritization are key attributes, and they strive to ensure a fun, safe work environment. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Scheduling team shifts
- Planning and dispensing daily work for the team
- Training and development of team for effective performance
- Communicating with internal and external teams on current objectives and progress
- Collaborating with other Team Leads and Warehouse Managers
- Coaching and corrective action of team members
- Recording and reporting on daily metrics and target performance
- Reviewing and providing feedback on work completed by team members
- Improving and developing better processes and work areas
- Ensuring daily checklists and departmental responsibilities are completed regularly
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
- Attention to detail
- Organization and prioritization abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team leadership experience an asset
- Warehouse, logistics, or operations experience an asset
- Microsoft office, ERP, and WMS experience
- Problem identification and solving skills
- Ordering supplies and maintaining clean work areas
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is an asset
