Every day, more than 1,200 people work with the YMCAs of Québec network, providing a variety of services that create positive change in people’s lives. 

Under the supervision of the Physical Activities Coordination team, the individual will be responsible for offering stimulating, safe, and creative group classes.

The Challenge We Offer You

  • Lead classes according to the course descriptions and guidelines established by the YMCAs of Québec.
  • Adapt exercises to create an inclusive environment by providing options or modifications to encourage members to train at their own pace.
  • Observe participants and provide feedback and corrections as needed.
  • Intervene tactfully and diplomatically when a member performs an exercise in a way that poses a risk of injury.
  • Ensure that procedures and policies are followed.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures regarding the protection of children and vulnerable individuals.
  • Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy into the role and within the Association, participating in fundraising activities/events.

The Person We Are Looking For

  • Hold a certification relevant to the course specialty, such as a YMCA FIT certification or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience as an instructor.
  • Hold a certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
  • Be able to work in both official languages.
  • Have no criminal record related to the position.
