Purpose of the Role 

The Senior Project Manager provides project management and/or subject matter expertise in support of capital projects. This position is responsible for applying the ePMO gating and delivery framework for project management methodologies, documents and processes to ensure the successful completion of project objectives whin scope, budget, and on time while achieving the identified value that the projects are meant to achieve. There will be a particular focus on budget acumen within this position both at the project and enterprise levels.

The Senior Project Manager will lead a diverse group of employees, stakeholders and contractors that results in a team that can meet its goals and objectives. Additionally, this position is responsible for meeting regularly with program/project team members and interdepartmental teams to review program/project status and plan future actions. While managing capital projects, this position will also support the practice of Project Management with the Centre of Excellence Team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Manage the implementation of project deliverables including the management of project integration, scope, time, cost, procurement, quality, communication and resources
  • Balance the planning and execution of concurrent cross-disciplinary and/or cross-functional projects in various phases of delivery
  • Manage risks, opportunities, changes and conflict resolution within projects
  • Ensure sustainability of new product or service implementation, ensure effective project execution, and conduct project post-implementation review with a view to continuous improvement
  • Build business cases, define and ensure delivery of project artifacts as required by established processes
  • Provide regular reports on project status, open RAID log items
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Project Managers on smaller projects
  • Participate in strategic project governance process for prioritization and reporting
  • Provide coaching and mentoring as required. Provide input to performance reviews and report performance related issues
  • Support other team members on tool and process adoption as prescribed by the Center of Excellence (CoE)


What You Will Bring to the Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Formal Project management training and PMP certification or equivalent designation required
  • 8 years project management experience
  • Excellent facilitation and change management skills
  • Experience managing cross functional project teams
  • Experiencing managing 1-3 projects at a time (medium to large scope).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Proficiency with PPM tools
