Role Overview:

McElhanney is seeking a skilled Endpoint Systems Engineer to elevate the End User Computing and Mobile Systems Architecture and experience. Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure, this hybrid technical and business-focused role is responsible for managing endpoint devices, ensuring seamless customer experience (CX), and project managing deployment and enhancement initiatives. This individual will provide strategic oversight, technical, and business analysis for end-user computing and mobile device technologies for Windows, iOS, and Linux endpoints.

 

The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver, BC.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Endpoint Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement an end-user computing strategy to enhance customer experience and productivity
  • Design, implement and maintain endpoint management solutions e.g., Microsoft Intunes, SCCM, JAMF)
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize end-user computing requirements
  • Develop policies and procedures for SW packaging, deployment and management.
  • Identify opportunities and implement cost-effective endpoint computing support services that incorporate security best practices and deliver a seamless end-user experience.
  • Liaise with contract management lead to maintain contracts and strategic sourcing documents
  • Create and maintain a catalogue and inventory, and lifecycle management of endpoint devices and assets
  • Document processes, procedures and configurations

 

Software Packaging, Cybersecurity & Deployment:

  • Manage, configure, and optimize end-user computing and mobile devices
  • Lead the deployment of enpoint solutions and devices including timely resolution
  • Own the full lifecycle of endpoint applications—from assessment and packaging to deployment, monitoring, and retirement. Implement and maintain endpoint access policies aligned with Zero Trust security models, including conditional access and MFA strategies
  • Develop and enforce endpoint security policies, including patch management, antivirus and encryption
  • Coordinate with IT, Contract Management and Procurement teams to evaluate and select software
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity to monitor and report on endpoint performance, compliance, and security vulnerabilities.

 

User Experience & Operational Support

  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for escalated endpoint-related issues
  • Monitor endpoint performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
  • Manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments if applicable
  • Guide and support end-users on computing solutions and best practices
  • Lead structured testing, validation, and deployment of enterprise applications, OS upgrades, security updates, and patches across endpoint environments.

 

Business Relationship and Financial Responsibilities

  • Develop presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences using Microsoft Productivity Suites like Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Able to convey and communicate technical content for both executives and non-executives
  • Prepare and manage financial forecasts and analytics including cost-scenario planning

 

What You’ll Bring:

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • 6-8 years of directly related l experience in endpoint systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles
  • Proficiency with endpoint management platforms like Microsoft Intune, SCCM, JAMF, VMware, Workspace ONE, etc.)
  • Advanced to expert-level experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Azure, Entra/Active Directory, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, and Windows OS.
  • Demonstrated experience with mobile and computing hardware, software deployment tools, and update management systems for Windows, Linux, and iOS.
  • Strong Project Management and coordination skills with experience leading technology deployment or transformation projects.
  • Strong scripting experience, particularly in PowerShell, and familiarity with application packaging and automation tools.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High performer with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work independently or in team environments.
  • Knowledge of IT security, networking, virtual servers, and change management processes

 

Qualifications

  • Certifications in Microsoft Modern Desktop, Security, and Teams administration are required.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Certified Endpoint Security Specialist (CESS)
  • ITIL

 

 

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
