The Position:
Neelands is searching for a 313A Apprentice and a Licensed HVAC-R Service Technician to join our team servicing the GTHA. The ideal candidate will be located, in either Oakville, Burlington or Hamilton. This position is union regular, full-time.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service, the Service Technician will work closely with the team on repair, install, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
This role requires the individual to be available to dispatch weekdays from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
“On-Call” for after-hours service calls, weekdays, weekends and stat days, is required, team effort, rotation TBD.
Responsibilities:
- Response to service calls and scheduled maintenance and repairs for HVAC equipment and related mechanical equipment
- Perform diagnostics (troubleshoot) to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment such as RTU, make up air, exhaust fans, splits, boilers.
- Repairs to equipment, sourcing parts and install parts. Equipment replacement when deemed necessary.
- Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team
- Provide recommendations and assist estimator with information on quote
- Build and maintain positive relationship with customers or clients
- Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Valid 313A license is a requirement or a valid apprenticeship
- Previous HVAC experience is a requirement
- G2 gas license is required (G1 is an asset)
- Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
- Valid G license with a clean driver abstract
- English language proficiency (read/write/speak)
