Thursday, May 15, 2025

At BC Place, a division of BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), we work to create unforgettable moments, world-class experiences and stronger connections to community, industry and culture.

As Western Canada's leading venue for live events, we host a year-round schedule of sporting events, concerts, consumer shows and more each year while also supporting the community through an array of ongoing partnerships and initiatives.

At BC Place, we host the moments that matter—from sold-out concerts and iconic sporting events to large-scale trade shows and community gatherings. As the Manager, Facility Operations (Conversions), you will play a mission-critical role in making it all happen. Reporting to and working with the Senior Manager, Facility Operations, you will lead the planning and execution of stadium conversions to ensure every event is set up for success—safely, efficiently, and on time.

You will be responsible for the seamless transformation of the stadium from one event configuration to another—whether flipping from a football game to a concert or preparing for a major exhibition. You will lead a dedicated team of full-time and part-time staff, working closely with cross-functional departments to deliver world-class events.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all stadium changeovers for sports, concerts, trade shows, and community events.
  • Develop and maintain detailed conversion timelines and assign tasks to crews accordingly.
  • Ensure all setups meet event specifications, league standards, and safety regulations.
  • Lead, hire, train, and supervise a team of full-time conversion specialists and part-time technicians.
  • Provide hands-on, on-site leadership during setup and takedown activities.
  • Promote and enforce all safety procedures and best practices, ensuring proper equipment usage.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory of tools, materials, and conversion equipment.
  • Monitor wear and tear, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Coordinate logistics related to movement, storage, and maintenance of conversion materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Events, Sales, Engineering, Security) and external vendors to meet event-specific requirements.
  • Track labor hours, equipment usage, and materials to stay within budget.
  • Prepare post-event reports, highlighting challenges, successes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support facility-wide maintenance operations, including the retractable roof system.

What You Will Bring:

  • A degree in Sports Management, Facility Management, Operations—or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in stadium/arena operations or event conversions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on team development.
  • Experience with WorkSafeBC and industry-standard safety practices.
  • Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The salary range for this position is $ 80,307 – 100,384

  • Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
