The Club is recruiting a seasonal Basketball Referee for our House League. This position will be responsible for officiating games, enforcing game rules, and promoting player safety in a fair, consistent, and professional manner. This seasonal contract is June 1st – June 29th, every Sunday 12pm-6pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Officiate House League basketball games with fairness and consistency, following game rules and standards.
- Ensure the safety of all players by enforcing rules and maintaining order, and escalate concerns or incidents to manager.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with players, spectators and other employees.
- Maintain professional composure and integrity throughout each game.
- Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club.
- Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Experience playing basketball at an intermediate level or higher required
- Previous experience in refereeing an asset
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- A completed Vulnerable Sector Check is a requirement for employment
