North American Stamping Group is a privately held company founded in 1978. We continue to explore the most innovative processes and technologies to stay on the leading edge of the automotive industry.  Our strategic locations within North America allows us the manufacturing footprint to cover you in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. NASG is an industry leader in the manufacturing of stampings and automated assemblies.  A Tier II supplier of components, systems and aftermarket products for the automotive industry with a core business market consisting of seating, ride control, exhaust components, heat shields, noise, vibration and harness (NVH), chassis and structural and window regulators.

The Production Manager reports to the Operations Manager or designate. This position is to Manage all Production activities in the assigned division. This position will encourage others to seek opportunities for different & innovative approaches to addressing problems as opportunities. Coach & develop team members respectfully using guidance & feedback to help them strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.  Make critical decisions while following company procedures. Identify & correct conditions that affect team member safety. Initiative to be a team builder and create an environment for team members to work toward a goal. Will also be responsible for driving key initiatives to include cost reductions, inventory management and delivery performance. This position could have 3-4 direct reports.

Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated Leadership, Organization, and Communications skills.

  • Demonstrated capability of using measuring instruments                         

  • Excellent skills in the use of EXCEL & Microsoft WORD

     

Personal/Technical Skills:

  • Ensure safety, process capability, efficiency and standardization across NASG facilities through NASG machine standards and designs.                                   

  • Troubleshoot problems on production equipment                                

  • Assist in training of plant personnel                                          

  • Assistance in preparation of strategic plan and budget                             

  • Participate in Associate involvement teams                                         

  • Upgrade self with training as required for job responsibilities                     

  • Responsible for improving the ability and technology of the welding department to include Mig welding                                                                    

  • Self-accountability and self-discipline, 100% commitment to the TQPS principles

  • Challenge the status quo respect for Associates in everyday activities.      

  • Possess Honesty, strong work ethics, job knowledge to gain/keep the respect of associates

  • Work non-routine hours as required to maintain production schedule compliance.      

  • Assure compliance of self and subordinates with NASG procedures and standards.        

  • Self-disciplined & self-directed to apply time as value added                     

  • Participate in Problem solving and 8-D activities to ensure quality product to our customers

  • Regular review of downtime and plan for improvement                                               

  • Ensure the manufacturing processes are constantly evolving with technological advancements.

     

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Allocate manpower as needed to meet production requirements                            

  2. Step into Group or Team Leader's role in case of their absence.                            

  3. Report data for Monthly Management Review meetings                                    

  4. Evaluate & Review goals with each Associate; provide feedback, correction, or direction as needed.                                                                                            

  5. Report Area performance to Associates on a documented schedule.               

  6. Continuous interaction with team members driving the TQPS philosophy         

  7. Manage all 31-day charts, 5S checklist, TPM checks, reports, etc. for data collection & report outs.                                                                                                         

  8. Assist Group Leaders in tracking all Work Orders, Tooling or Maintenance, for timely & accurate repairs.                                                                                    

  9. Review & issue die set-up sheets as updated by Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and Associates.                                                                                       

  10. Responsible for performance reviews of all direct reports including mentoring, counseling,

    & corrective actions                                                                                             

  11. Be available for A.I. team meetings as required & requested.                           

  12. Manage shift-to-shift communications to avoid unnecessary downtime                  

  13. Ensure that Group & Team Leaders are adhering to company policies and administering

    effective pro-associate practices."                                                                                         

  14. Ability to enter into ShopEdge all Production data accurately, efficiently, and immediately

    after shift completion                                                                                            

  15. Follow the Standard Operating Procedures guidelines - dies/fixtures come out if they are not running                                                                                             

  16. Hourly review of Production Lean Boards.                                                          

  17. Develop methods of improvement - using Continuous Improvements & A.I. Team Suggestion Routers.                                                                                                                          

  18. Ensure team member training is maintain at the expected level for required documents, procedures, & processes.                                        

  19. Administer appraisal & discipline of work team members.                                 

  20. Ensure compliance to Safety Policies and Practices                                          

  21. Accident Investigations for proper Corrective Actions                                              

  22. Ensure 5-S standards are maintained - Review verification of items on 5S checklist

  23. Support all Quality systems, Promote Quality achievement & performance            

  24. Follow-up and execute as needed on Corrective Actions                                        

  25. Define Quality procedures in conjunction with the Quality Department.                  

  26. Any additional duties assigned by next level leader.

     

Education Requirements:

  • Preferred - Associates Degree or equivalent experience as an Area/Production Supervisor for at least five (5), years in a fast-paced Production Environment with an emphasis in Stamping & Welding                                                                                    

  • Required - High school diploma or GED                                                             

  • Excellent Math, Computer, & Communication skills
