Senior Building Operator
Harvard Developments has an immediate opening for a Senior Building Operator to join its Calgary team in providing an exceptional customer experience throughout its managed portfolio. The position is suited to a friendly individual interested in working with a dedicated group of customer service, maintenance and building operations personnel.

The company oversees 10 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial properties throughout Western Canada, with offices in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, and Edmonton.
The position will be primarily responsible for tenant service response, vendor relations, building maintenance & operations of a portfolio of commercial office properties as well as financial and budget administration duties. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
The successful candidate will have obtained a class 5 boiler license or similar/higher accreditation and must have 5 or more years of experience as a commercial building operator. Credentials in workplace safety and project management, along with 2 or more years of experience with training and overseeing the activity of others is an asset.
Key responsibilities include:
- Report to Operations Manager & Property Manager
- Assist Operations team with routine & non routine repairs and maintenance such as preventative maintenance functions;
- Manage major equipment replacement projects;
- Operate the building’s automation, fire life and safety, mechanical and electrical systems;
- Maintain positive contractor relationships while overseeing contracted services such as cleaning, security, HVAC, grounds, snow removal, etc.
- Carry out the planned maintenance program for the properties; and
- Assist the management team achieve its customer, financial and organizational objectives.
- Lead or assist in completing various special projects that may include small capital projects
Preference will be given to an individual who possesses:
- A high level of commitment to service customers with availability to respond 24 hours a day when scheduled on-call;
- Strong command of the English language with good verbal & basic written communications skill;
- Excellent interpersonal & team building skills;
- Intermediate computer literacy & experience using digital devices such as BAS and BMS;
- A mechanical inclination with practiced motor skills and capacity to perform physical work;
- Experience in procurement, contract administration, and managing a budget; and
- A good working knowledge of workplace safety practices and requirements.
- Individual must hold a valid 5th class motor vehicle license and have access to a reliable vehicle,
