Position Summary

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Support (LMS) Shop Manager, the Line Maintenance Support (LMS) Shop Technician is responsible for dismantling, cleaning, inspecting, repair/overhaul, testing and painting aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Accomplish the dismantling, cleaning, inspection, repair/overhaul, testing and painting of aircraft components
  • Ensure all work is carried out using industry practices in conjunction with the applicable Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals, Perimeter policies/procedures and specifications set down by outside regulatory agencies
  • Follow direction of SCA qualified personnel for on-the-job training and once qualified, mentor/train junior staff as instructed by management
  • Maintain a neat and tidy workspace
  • Make recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and safety and to contribute to continuous improvement
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by Manager
  • Comply with and actively promote Perimeter Safety Policies
  • Take part in any CAPs as necessary when defined by Perimeter’s SMS
  • Take part in correcting any audit findings as identified by Perimeter’s QA Dept
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in aviation or something related is considered an asset
  • Previous experience related to component overhaul and troubleshooting is considered an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License is considered an asset
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Physically able to perform all listed job duties
  • Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
  • Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
