Shift Hours: Monday to Friday; 2:00pm – 11:00pm
What Will You Do?
- Responsible to supervise all shop personnel and activities within the Baden Shop. This includes truck, trailers and reefer personnel.
- Answering concerns and questions employees may have.
- Communication with all Shop Managers for a smooth transition and crossover between shifts
- Ensure health and safety standards and company policies are being met within shop at all times.
- Delegate work to staff. Ensure work is documented according to company procedure through computer records and work orders.
- Plan and schedule preventative maintenance checks and safety inspections to equipment. Exercise signing authority for safety checks.
- Ensure parts are charged out on repair orders before closing. Order parts as required to complete repairs.
- Assist in the repair and servicing of all Erb equipment. Road test vehicles when required. Communicate with Management regarding major repairs and parts.
- Assist drivers with problems on road either by telephone or by service call.
- Communicate with dispatch on a daily basis to prioritize availability of equipment and any no-go equipment.
- Communicate with Director of Fleet Maintenance to ensure operations and staff issues are being met and handled within company policy.
- Address Occupational Health and Safety issues as related to the shop.
- All other duties as required.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Class 310T license would be an asset but not mandatory
- Minimum High school diploma required.
- Must be first aid certified, or willing to complete certification
- Proven supervisory skills established through previous supervisory experience.
- Computer skills and ability to look at future automated shop programs.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on quality, cost-effective fleet maintenance.
- Proven mechanical abilities with a strong working knowledge of mechanical application and repair techniques.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to implement continuous improvement.
- Quality decision-making skills and ability to use good judgement.
- Positive attitude with proven people skills.
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
- Proven time management skills and ability to communicate with mechanics regarding fair labour standards on jobs.
